What are the 2015 Refund Cycle Dates?

E-File Your Tax Return with RapidTax and Receive your Refund Within 21 Days!

In the past, the IRS released a refund cycle chart. This chart allowed tax filers to know exactly when they would receive their tax refund. Sounds helpful, right?

Unfortunately, the IRS no longer posts the refund cycle chart. Luckily, there are charts out there which give a pretty accurate prediction on when you’ll get your refund.

You may want to know how long it will take to receive your tax refund once you file your 2014 tax return.  Luckily, we’ve provided a refund cycle chart below.

Keep in mind however, these dates are NOT definite. They are only expected dates, based off of previous year trends.

  1. Is the accepted date and the approved date one of the same? My taxes were accepted on the 29th but it still does not say approved. I thought I have always went of the “accepted” date. Thoughts?

  2. My taxes were done and approved on January 21. I went to where is my refund is supposed to be deposited Tomorrow January 30.

    So excited.

  3. Mine was accepted by the IRS on the 16th but the website still has in process. The bar has not moved to refund approved yet and it has been two weeks. Anyone else have this same issue?

    1. Mine has been staying at received return for over a wk now n im wondering wats goin on also since i have read alot have files n been approved already pretty quik

      1. Mine is saying the same thing. I filled the 16th and on where’s my refund it keeps sayin processing and is on the firt bar. Just yesterday it took the bar away and says it’s till processing an a refund date will be provided when available. I’m getting a paper check though.

      2. I efiled my return on the 21st and it was accepted on the 21st. According to the cycle chart, my expected date is today, Feb 5th however, the wheres my refund tool has not moved from processing. It’s already been 15 days and I hear people saying they got theres in a week. Every year that’s me. I usually get mine within the first week of Feb. I don’t understand why it’s taking so long this year and why my status is stuck on Processing.

      3. Hi Dawn,

As stated in the article, these dates are estimated based on prior year refund cycles.

The IRS has announced that it is experiencing high traffic on Where’s My Refund as more tax returns come in. The heavy volume of refund inquiries means that the IRS anticipates both the “Where’s My Refund?” tool and the refund feature on the IRS2go phone app will have limited availability during busier periods.
Due to the large number of inquiries and to avoid service disruptions, the IRS strongly urges taxpayers to only check on their refunds once a day. IRS systems are only updated once a day, usually overnight, and the same information is available whether on the internet, IRS2go smartphone app or on IRS toll-free lines. While “Where’s My Refund” is updated nightly, your account will not change that frequently.

      4. Mine too for over a week and just today it says it will deposited on feb 9. Why not feb 5?

      5. Hi Shardae,

Please keep in mind that these dates are estimated based on prior year return cycles. The IRS no longer releases a refund cycle; one of the reasons being so that they cannot commit to specific dates.

  4. My taxes was sent to the IRS early and accepted on Jan. 13. Now my bars have disappeared and it states that a refund date will be given once they are processed. What does this mean?

  5. hello i did my taxes yesterday 1/28/2015 irs accepted it, when will i recieve my refund i did efile and direct deposit.

      1. I filed and it was accepted the same day as you. I still see no change on the where’s my refund tracker. Here it is the 6th still no change or deposit. Somebody is seriously mistaken with these deposit dates being given by everyone EXCEPT the irs

      2. Hi Mike,

As stated in the article, these dates are 100% estimated based solely on prior year refund cycles. The IRS no longer offers a refund cycle; one of the reasons being so that they are not held to specific dates.
