Once upon a time, there was an IRS refund cycle chart that told taxpayers when they could expect to receive their tax refund.
Don’t plan on the IRS posting a 2015 Refund Cycle Chart. In 2012, the refund cycle chart fairy tale ended and the IRS eliminated the chart.
However, there are still helpful tools out there to help filers get an idea on when they can expect to receive their tax refund in 2015. Since each year differs slightly, you can check out the 2016 refund cycle dates HERE.
Where do I go to find out when I will receive my refund?
The IRS no longer posts a tax refund chart, however, they did post an article last year explaining a refund tool available on their website called “Where’s My Refund?”. Once your 2014 tax return is filed, you can check your refund status on the IRS site. You’ll need to enter the following information;
- social security number
- filing status
- refund amount.
Are there any estimated refund cycle charts available?
Although the IRS won’t post a 2015 refund cycle chart, there are estimate refund cycle charts out there. The dates are based on trends from prior years. The tax refund cycle chart is based upon how you elected to receive your tax refund; via direct deposit or check. Below is an example of a 2015 refund cycle chart (don’t forget these are estimate dates);
The tax refund cycle dates are NOT promised dates. They are simply dates based off of previous year trends. To know for sure when you will receive your taxes, wait a few days after filing your 2014 taxes, then check the IRS website using their “Where’s My Refund” tool.
The IRS is now accepting e-filed 2014 Tax Returns. That means you can file your 2014 today with RapidTax and within 21 days you’ll have your refund money. | Photo via Seth Anderson on Flickr

Hi,
It could be a number of things. I suggest you contact the tax filing company you used to file your taxes. They should be able to tell you what needs to be done. If you filed with RapidTax, you can contact us directly at 877-289-7580 between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.

I am having the same issue..I filed n was accepted Feb 1 st..n still saying accepted.
Hi Adama,
There are three stages of the IRS refund for their system; 1. Return Received, 2. Refund Approved and 3. Refund Sent.
Your return has been received, which means it is being processed. Once the IRS has completely processed it, it will be approved and the status will change to “Refund Approved”. This can sometimes take longer than a few days for some people.
Once it is approved, they will send your refund by direct deposit or check. Once sent, the status will change to “Refund sent”.
The chart is just as estimate refund date based on previous year trends. The IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days.
Filed mine on the 21st of Jan and I had to call hr block cuz they forgot to transmit mine over …I finally got and accepted email on the 3rd of Feb…when I got to wmr I says no info what is that about
Hi Nichole,
I would suggest contacting H&R about this issue. You’ll want to make sure you are entering all the information on WMR correctly.
Best of luck!
i filed Feb 3 2014 and got accepted the following day. i really don’t understand how it works with a card from H&R block. is that almost like direct deposit and would i get it on the day the direct deposit says? please help so confused
Hi Joseph,
We aren’t HR Block, we are RapidTax, a different online tax filing company, meaning, I don’t know the exact system they have regarding direct deposit, etc. I would suggest contacting them with your question. Although, if it says your refund will be direct deposited no a certain date, you should expect it that day.
Hi,
I filed Jan 20th and I have not got accepted yet and the system states that I am not putting the correct information in. It sates to wait 21 days after bring accepted. What should I do?
Hi Candias,
Did you file with us (RapidTax)? If so, you can contact us at a time that works well for you by phone Mon-Fri 10:00AM- 5:00PM. If you didn’t file with us, I suggest contacting the company you filed your taxes with to sort it out.
